I've been wanting to get my first tattoo for some time, I want a winged skull tattooed on the side of my waist, but I haven't found the right design yet...I'm quite hesitant about it, I've seen the works of people here and I don't really like them, it will be tough to find a tattoo artist I can trust! hehe

Kat Von D is my inspiration, and my dream tattoo artist, I love, love, love her works! But since I don't think I will be that lucky to get a tattoo designed and done by her, I found this, and I though it might be helpful for somebody else:

Silent Hill 8 is coming!

Silent Hill 8 (working title) is the eighth installment of the award-winning Silent Hill series developed by Vatra Games and published by Konami for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Silent Hill 8 is scheduled for release in 2011.

Shinji Hirano, President of Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. is quoted saying: "In honoring the rich history and strong following of Silent Hill, we're working hard to build a next generation horror game that the fans truly deserve... This Silent Hill introduces an all-new storyline and unique evolutions in gameplay, building on innovations and successes from over a decade of true survival horror and terror.

Gameplay

According to Konami, the camera will remain primarily in third-person. Silent Hill 8 will continue to offer the "mind-bending" puzzles and "thought-provoking storyline" that launched the series into mainstream fame, and will provide a "deep psychological horror experience" with multiple side-quests depending on the player's decisions and behavior.

Plot

The main protagonist of Silent Hill 8 is Murphy Pendleton, an escaped prisoner. E3's teaser trailer indicates that a postal worker, a civilian, and a female police officer will be supporting characters.

The game begins after a prisoner-transport bus plunges into a large, otherworldly crack in the road just outside of Silent Hill. Pendleton escapes the wreckage and navigates his way through the forest and into the foggy town.

Development

Silent Hill 8 is under development by Czech developer Vatra Games and is in the early stages of post-production. It is published by Konami Digital Entertainment in Japan.

And now in Spanish :)

Silent Hill 8

Silentum Amoris, by Oscar Wilde

Photobucket

As often-times the too resplendent sun
Hurries the pallid and reluctant moon
Back to her sombre cave, ere she hath won
A single ballad from the nightingale,
So doth thy Beauty make my lips to fail,
And all my sweetest singing out of tune.

And as at dawn across the level mead
On wings impetuous some wind will come,
And with its too harsh kisses break the reed
Which was its only instrument of song,
So my too stormy passions work me wrong,
And for excess of Love my Love is dumb.

But surely unto Thee mine eyes did show
Why I am silent, and my lute unstrung;
Else it were better we should part, and go,
Thou to some lips of sweeter melody,
And I to nurse the barren memory
Of unkissed kisses, and songs never sung.

Annabel Lee by Rogue (The Cruxshadows)

My favorite poem recited by one of my favorite singers, Rogue of The Cruxshadows. I love the feeling and strength he puts in it.

I Am Not Yours

I am not yours, not lost in you,
Not lost, although I long to be
Lost as a candle lit at noon,
Lost as a snowflake in the sea.

You love me, and I find you still
A spirit beautiful and bright,
Yet I am I, who long to be
Lost as a light is lost in light.

Oh plunge me deep in love -- put out
My senses, leave me deaf and blind,
Swept by the tempest of your love,
A taper in a rushing wind.

Myths of Hecate, Goddess of The Crossroads

Photobucket

Hecate or Hekate is a Greco-Roman goddess associated with magic and crossroads.

Hecate, Greek goddess of the three paths, guardian of the household, protector of everything newly born, and the goddess of witchcraft. Once a widely revered and influential goddess, the reputation of Hecate has been tarnished over the centuries. In current times, she is usually depicted as a "hag" or old witch stirring the cauldron.

But nothing could be further from the image of Hecate's original glory.

A beautiful and powerful goddess in her own right, the Greek goddess Hecate was the only one of the ancient Titans who Zeus allowed to retain their authority once the Olympians seized control. Zeus shared with Hecate, and only her, the awesome power of giving humanity anything she wished (or withholding it if she pleased).

Usually classified as a "moon goddess", her kingdoms were actually three-fold . . . the earth, sea, and sky. Having the power to create or withhold storms undoubtedly played a role in making her the goddess who was the protector of shepherds and sailors.

A lover of solitude, the Greek goddess Hecate was, like her cousin Artemis, a "virgin" goddess, unwilling to sacrifice her independent nature for the sake of marriage. Walking the roads at night or visiting cemeteries during the dark phase of the moon, the goddess Hecate was described as shining or luminous.

In other legends she is invisible, perhaps only glimpsed as a light, a "will-o-the-wisp". Perhaps it was this luminous quality that marked Hecate as a "moon goddess", for she seemed quite at home on the earth.

Hecate came to be associated with ghosts, infernal spirits, the dead and sorcery. One interesting passage exists suggesting that the word "jinx" might have originated in a cult object associated with Hecate. "The Byzantine polymath Michael Psellus speaks of a bullroarer, consisting of a golden sphere, decorated throughout with symbols and whirled on an oxhide thong. He adds that such an instrument is called a iunx (hence "jinx"), but as for the significance says only that it is ineffable and that the ritual is sacred to Hecate.

The goddess Hecate was often accompanied on her travels by an owl, a symbol of wisdom. Not really known as a goddess of wisdom, per se, Hecate is nevertheless recognized for a special type of knowledge and is considered to be the goddess of trivia.

Hecate's farsightedness and attention to detail, combined with her extraordinary interest in that which most of us discount as irrelevant or arcane, gave her tremendous powers.

She knew what the rest of us did not.
